A Guide To Pokemon Pre Release Events
Pokemon TCG pre-release events are fun, casual events that are always really popular with our Gloucester community! 🥳
Players get a chance to open up the new booster packs early ahead of the main release date, and its a great environment to make new friends and trade cards with other collectors! 👀
If you haven't tried a pre-release event before, here is an idea what to expect:
- A 40-card ready-to-play deck, including 1 of 4 alternate-art promo cards
- 4 new booster packs
- 1 deck-building tip sheet
You then get 30 minutes to open your booster packs and fine-tune your deck.
Spare energy cards are available from staff upon request, but you are not allowed to add any other cards into your deck that didn't come out of the battle box!
Once everyone has finished their decks, there is a 3 round tournament.
Matches are played best of 1 (not our usual best of 3).
Games are played with 4 Prize cards rather than the usual 6.
Once the tournament is over, everyone receives extra booster packs for participation, there is no prize pool for these casual events as they are just for fun!
Our pre-release events sell out every time to make sure to book in advance to avoid missing out!
